Excerpt from Dark Days Tarot Guidebook by Emily Mundy:
Seven of Swords
The querent is severed by treachery. Understanding, with precise logic, what has occurred in the past to induce the present set of circumstances is imperative for spiritual survival. You may feel on the verge of defeat; your power may be lost to a sour source of guile or deceit. But stitching the self together again is possible when errors in judgement and mistakes are recognized, then mended with circumstantial clarity. Reversed indicates that the deceit derives itself from inside. There is a need to consider one’s own weaknesses – and perhaps, how one is deceiving themselves in their own life – as these qualities inside might be the culprits hindering a happy conclusion.
Suggested prompts:
upright: severance; treachery
right: weakening; dwindling stamina
left: overestimation of abilities; slander
reversed: self-deceit; sly forces at work
